OK...am I the only one tired of the unending coverage for Anna Nicole Smith? Her death is heartbreaking, especially when I think of that sweet little baby girl, BUT....the story of her death has dominated CNN for the last couple of days.
What is our world coming to where the death of a personality demands more attention than world news. We are at war. People are dying. Candidates are beginning to announce their bids for the presidency. There are other options.
My teenager was watching CNN today in order to pick a current event worth writing about. She couldn't find one...CNN was too busy generating commentary about their star story and waiting for the autopsy findings to be revealed.
The Cafferty File question for the 4 o'clock hour was: How would you characterize the television news coverage of the death of Anna Nicole Smith? The emails rolled in and overwhelmingly said, "STOP TALKING ABOUT IT". CNN's response? The Smith Story is generating the most hits on their website. They keep airing it because that is what their viewers are indicating they want to hear about.
Wow...the state of America.

This really annoys me. It's half the reason we don't watch or read the news. The way I figure it, if there's something important enough for me to know about, I'm sure I'll find out. I talk to people. SOMEONE'S bound to tell me!
