What does it mean to have a four year old boy sit in the same spot that his grandfather did as a young boy years ago?

What does it mean for a family to worship together...to have a certain time where the world stops and nothing else is as important as a sacred moment?

What does it mean for a father hug his sons?

What does it mean for a man to be at his post, week after week, for decades?

What does it mean for a girl to hold to a tradition out of respect for the principles of her elders?

What does it mean for a grand-daughter-in-law to come to the place of her husband's family...even when it is not possible for him to come with her?

What does it mean for a great-grandfather to hold his great-grandson...in the same place that he has held his sons and grandsons?

What does it mean for a granddaughter to revel in a moment that she knows is to be cherished?

What does it mean for two small boys to learn to sit at the side of their father...learning to do what he does?

What does it mean to sing truth together in harmony?

What does it mean for three cousins to develop a bond from shared experiences?

What does it mean for a wife to stand by her husband?

What does it mean for things to have be in place for years? Unchanged...and still as potent as originally designed to be?

What does it mean for a son to serve alongside his father?

What does it mean for a father to disciple his son and for a son to disciple his sons-in-law?

What does it mean for generations to stand together?...

It means...
LEGACY...

Chains unbroken...
Unity...
Purpose...
Understanding of the past...
Empowerment for the future...
It means that the baton of life's experiences, expectations, history, and, most importantly, faith, has a better chance of continuing to be passed. It's easier to keep the race going if the person delivering the baton to you has given a solid hand off.
It means that with future generations, each person in each family has the potential to go further and live their life with more power because they are not starting from scratch.
It is an honor to bask in the awareness of the heritage of family and Christian faith during my time in Maryland. Sundays morning when we are together are magical and sacred. They are unrepeatable and unique each time. The awesomeness of four generations to stand together, worship together and sup together is indescribable and cannot be communicated solely with words.
To my grandfather, Two Daddy - Thank you for laying the foundation.
To my dad - Thank you for bringing us here every summer so that we could catch the vision.
To my husband - Thank you for grabbing a hold of the baton and working so hard to pass it to our sons.
To my Savior - Thank you for being the glue that holds our family together.
